Mr. Belnap focuses his practice on supporting businesses in the region with the various legal issues those businesses may encounter. Those issues include entity formation, drafting operating agreements, contract review, dealing with employee concerns, acquiring or transferring real estate, and business litigation. Mr. Belnap also represents sureties and employers in workers compensation claims. Mr. Belnap especially enjoys legal research, writing legal briefs, and helping businesses solve problems.

Mr. Belnap was admitted to the Idaho State Bar in 2008. Following his admission, Mr. Belnap served as law clerk for the Honorable Judge Joel E. Tingey of the 7th Judicial District. Following his clerkship, Mr. Belnap joined the Bonneville County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office where he served as a deputy for over five years. As a prosecutor, Mr. Belnap was assigned to general misdemeanors, domestic violence crimes, embezzlements and corporate fraud prosecutions. Mr. Belnap has been first-chair trial counsel for both felony and misdemeanor jury trials, as well as workers compensation proceedings.

In 2014, Mr. Belnap started work at Doug Andrus Distributing LLC – a trucking company based in Southeastern Idaho – as in-house legal counsel. Mr. Belnap then joined Nelson Hall Parry Tucker, PLLC, in May of 2016. Since joining the firm, Mr. Belnap has continued to serve as general counsel and vice president of safety and human resources for Doug Andrus Distributing LLC.

Mr. Belnap graduated from the University of Idaho College of Law in 2008. Prior to his law school attendance, Mr. Belnap graduated with his Bachelor of Arts degree from Idaho State University. He received an Associates Degree from Ricks College (now known as BYU-Idaho).

Mr. Belnap grew up in Idaho Falls and attended Skyline High School. Mr. Belnap and his wife, the former Katrina (Katie) Lundquist, have two sons. Mr. Belnap enjoys writing music, fitness activities, and spending time with his family.
